Why intimate skin needs a different cleanser — and how to spot the wrong one.
Intimate skin sits between pH 3.5 and 4.5 — meaningfully more acidic than the rest of your body. That acidity is what keeps the local microbiome stable and protective.
What disrupts it
Conventional body wash (pH 7–10), bar soap, scented cleansers, and douching. Any of these can trigger irritation, odor, BV, or yeast — symptoms most people blame on hygiene when the cause is over-cleansing with the wrong product.
The fix
